Gekko pull the 2006 Barefooting Crossing Worlds in Washington U.S.A "The Evergreen State" NewsDate 2006-04-01
Matt Hickman, editor of Wakeboarding Magazine said he was stunned by how good the REVO 6.7 v drive's performance and outfitting is. Marveling at the big, rampy wakes, Matt also cited the boat's precise throttle response and excellent handling at all speeds.
The test team liked the cockpit mounted fill/drain controls for the ballast system and that they could be independently filled- left and right.
Wakeboard's team
also commented that the REVO was one of the few boats that did NOT porpoise
when fully loaded with gear
and ballast. Gekko's swoopy architecture, beamy interior, custom Gekko board
racks, speakers and accessories also captured a lot
of positive attention. As you can see in the video stream below, the wakes
are awesome and the boat's advanced styling is a real eye
catcher.
Equipped with
PCM's new ZR6 engine, the REVO 6.7 was one of the fastest v drives
tested with a top speed of 48 mph. This engine is
the new 6 liter Hummer engine and PCM's marinization is the best suited for
tow boat application. It's foot print is almost 5" narrower
than any other marinizer and with all of the neat features, this engine is
a very exciting option.
It's also very apparent that the Gekko value is extraordinary.
Few, if any, other builders can match Gekkos styling, performance and features for the money.
Here
are Gekko's blistering performance scores:
GTR22
- zero to 30 mph 4.0 sec.
- zero to 36 mph 5.1 sec.
- top speed 50.34 / 81.03+ km/h * 2006 Even faster...
REVO
6.7 v drive
- zero to 30 mph 6.2 sec.
- zero to 36 mph 7.9 sec.
- top speed 47.52 / 76.48 km/h
Special
notes:
* The GTR 22 is the fastest direct drive tested
* The REVO 6.7 gets great design, handling, versatility marks
